All air conditioning systems, new or old, used continually or periodically, regularly or rarely, must be maintained in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. This will keep the equipment operating to its full potential and efficiency, and this cannot be underestimated. Cutting back on costs in this area is a false economy, with many customers only having units serviced or maintained when a breakdown occurs. This will often result in the system requiring costly emergency repairs that could have been avoided if a regular maintenance contract and sensible servicing plan had been in place. The total lifetime running and repair costs of units without regular maintenance are always much higher than those that are regularly maintained. This is due to premature component failures and increased running costs throughout the life of the system from inefficient cooling and/or heating being provided, which in turn requires additional energy input.

Units and systems running efficiently in their optimum conditions, will reduce your carbon footprint by keeping running costs to a minimum. Their life expectancy will also be greatly extended through regular maintenance.

Our maintenance packages will include regular F-gas checks where necessary (as advised by government regulations) to ensure our customers are complying with all statutory regulations.

We operate a prompt call out service aimed at a 24-48 hour response, including weekends.

Our contracts are optimized to ensure you never pay more than necessary while keeping your system running at maximum efficiency. This is achieved by our experienced engineers recommending the suitable number or visits each year, and the necessary work to undertake on these visits based on your individual system environment. This can be altered and reduced where appropriate for further savings over time.

Pay as you go options are available for those who don’t wish to be placed on a contract.

We have the necessary experience to diagnose faults and advise you of repairs that can be vital to the running of your system, recommended for higher efficiency, or purely for cosmetic reasons.

All your important system details are recorded by us so we are available to help more thoroughly at any time while not on site via email, text or phone. This also allows us to keep you informed of great offers that are available to you based on your exact system.

We keep refrigerant logs updated and available for customers on request, which is required under government regulations.

CoolZone maintenance engineers strive to ensure that no customer finds themselves paying for unnecessary work which they do not need. Where further work arising from a maintenance visit is found, it is detailed on the engineer’s job sheet, including the unit/system it applies to, the nature of the fault, the work required to remedy the fault and its level of urgency. This allows customers to better understand the condition of their systems, and the difference between essential and non-essential work. Any non-essential work can be recorded so that customers can have such work carried out at a later date.

Where CoolZone find any minor problems or faults with equipment whist on a maintenance visit, providing they can be repaired in the remaining time on site, this will be carried out FREE OF CHARGE.


Our thorough 15 point check

To ensure our engineers carry out all the necessary work to keep your system running efficiently, we implement a 15 point health check.

  • Check & clean the condenser (outdoor unit) & evaporator (indoor unit) coils & fins to prevent the system from getting blocked. This leads to poor heating/cooling performance.
  • Check for any faults on the unit remote and set the correct time. Set timers for customers where requested and if their system contains this feature.
  • Check the fan, fan motor, compressor and compressor mountings.
  • Check all electrical connections to prevent any shorting out or electrical damage.
  • Check fuses and test operation of electrical isolator and protection devices for safety.
  • Check condensate pump and float/sensor to help prevent unexpected leaks.
  • Check and flush condensate drain and tray, de-scale and add water treatment as necessary.
  • Check condensate flow via gravity drain or pump.
  • Check air ducts, air grilles, filters and insulation.
  • Check refrigerant pipe work for integrity and thermal insulation.
  • Check temperature difference across coils in cooling and heating modes to indicate the health of the system.
  • Check unit operation, controls and settings.
  • Check any unit louvres and louvre motors.
  • Ensure the unit is clean and hygienic using anti-mould and anti-bacterial cleaners.
  • Check unit fascia’s and covers to ensure no cosmetic damage/broken hinges.

Also carried out where required:

  • Check the start and running currents.
  • Monitor the refrigerant suction and liquid line temperature and pressure.
